Briefly introduce yourself here:

      "No, no... I'M LAST!!! HAHA!

Ok, yeah... so this is a little on the late side, but better late than
never, right?? :-) Anyway, my name is Sarah Whitacre and I'm a senior in
Music Ed. (graduating in May.... YAHOO!!!) I'm originally from
Naperville, IL and came to Kansas hoping to never return, except on
holidays and so far it's worked! This is my second semester in Concert
Choir and I'm a member of Collegium this semester as well. Basically, I'm
just trying to hold onto my sanity until graduation... so, if I seem a
little frazzled, which is generally a common state of mind for me these
days, you'll know why. PEACE OUT!!"

      "HAHAHA no I'M LAST

Considering not many of you will read this as the due date is past I'll be
brief. I'm a SUPER senior in piano performance, finishing soon. I also
teach at the Lawrence piano studio. I accompany Women's Chorale as well
as the choir at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church."

Iowa. I play trombone with KU Concert band and KU Men's Basketball band.
I serve as a basketball official for the state of Kansas, and work for
Midwestern Music Camp. I had the opportunity this past summer to
perform the Stavinsky Symphony of Psalms with the Des Moines Choral Society
and the Pymouth Chancel Choir (Des Moines)at Carnegie Hall in NYC. This is
my second semester in Concert Choir and I also sing with Plymouth Church

"Hi...I would just like to say that every time I have tried to do this my
computer knocks me off and then when I try to come back to the web site
there is no "Introductions" on the page. Thank you.
My name is Brittany and I am "one of those new girls" as I heard some guy
refer to me the other day. I am a freshman psychology major and I just
transfered here from Pepperdine University in California. People usually
can't understand why, but you don't get snow days like last week in
Malibu. I sang in choir there too, but they don't believe in singing with
instruments so I am looking forward to some stuff that's not a capella.
Well, the weekend is over so unfortunately I will be back in class
      tomorrow. Bye."

      "Howdy concert choir.
My name is allen and I am a music ed major. I really enjoy playing the
piano, violin, guitar, and of course singing bass. I had a fun time
singing in concert choir last semester so I thought what the hey i
need the credit. I was in the orchestra for the past couple years. It
surprised me to see how extroverted choir kids are. I think that's
super cool. I think I might just be used to introverted orchestra
people. Anyways gotta get to one of my numerous classes. later."

"K, well, i think that this is pretty late, but what the hey i think ill
give it a shot anywhoo. My name is kevin, im a tenor, and i am also the
tallest person in choir. Does that make me special??? No, i dont think so
either. Does it bother anyone that i dont capatalise my "i's?" Oh, and i
dont use apostrophies either. When youre really tall you can get away with
stuff like that. Err... Yeah. Right, well choir starts in 2 minutes and
seeing as how ive already skipped english, i had better go to choir.
Kevin's destination time: T-2 minutes and counting."

"My name is Amy Hamilton. I am new to Concert Choir this semester. I was
in Women's last semester because I couldn't fit concert into my schedule.
I am a voice major here at KU...I think. It might be music education, I
don't know. Long Story. Anyway, about me...I love to waterski, and have
been doing that competitively since age 12, along with the rest of my
family, which is alot of people (eleven kids!!!) I get to babysit all of
them this weekend, too! Well, not my older brother obviously, but all the
rest. I am very excited! I love long walks on the beach and candlelit
dinners with that special someone. My favorite color is yellow, but I
also like pink and red. I am afraid of dogs, because one sort of attacked
me once, but my favorite animals are elephants and gorillas. "

know what all to type...I really enjoy singing but I dont think I am very
good so please try and put up with me. My major is japanese...maybe? and I
live in the Jayhawk towers which I like some days more than others. I work
at hastings and listen to a lot of music in my spare time...this works out
because of the discount at work...(not a five fingered one mind you). So I
think I am done now...oh and about these last couple of days without
school, I know we are all really upset that we couldn't attend our classes
but there is nothing we can do about it now...we just have to move on and
pray for no more snow...(sorry my humor can be compared to my singing
abilities...) Thanks for listening and I am sorry this is so late.

My name is Hsueh-Lien. Pronoucing it is rather tricky, so please just
call me Lien. I come from Singapore and I am a Music Therapy Grad student
now doing my second semester. I'm a piano major, but this semester, I'm
taking private voice lessons for the first time. I'm really excited about

as this is my first semester in Concert Choir I am pleased to meet you
      all.
I think I'm a sophomore and a soprano but every private instructor I
have had seems to have a different opinion on where I stand in the grand
scheme of things. Aside from that however I am very boreing and my break
was boreing except when my purse was lost/stolen. My husband has been
great when it comes to keeping me sane about that whole thing.

So anyway, this is Lindsay, and I'm a soprano, and as Miss Katie
Jensen already noted, I've got the long blonde hair.
My favorite Schoolhouse Rock songs are "Interjections" and "Unpack
your Adjectives." I'll sing them for you, if you'd like.
      Here's something funny:
You know how stoplights turn yellow before they turn red? Well, in
Germany, they ALSO turn yello before they turn GREEN! What a crazy

in high school and stuff. Oh... I just found out that I made the cast
of "South Pacific" so that is very exciting to me. I was in the Theatre
For Young People's production of "Afternoon of the Elves" earlier this
year. I am happy to be at KU and even though I didn't sing in a choir
last semester I am hoping I havn't forgotten how or anything. I hope to

"Well, let's try this introduction thing:

My name is Jeff (as it says at the bottom). I have been in Concert
Choir for 3 semesters. I don't know a lot of people in our Choir, but
that is NOT the way I want it to be, especially if the person I don't know
happens to be a cute/intelligent young lady (alto or soprano --- doesn't
      matter to me).
I live in Topeka, and drive here from Topeka every day. I am obsessed
with Gregorian Chant and Sacred Polyphony, and I have been in charge of
our Church's Schola Cantorum for several years --- we sing chant every
Sunday for Mass, and that is why I can sight-sing anything in the Liber.
(but why would you care about that??)
I like to do odd little "artsy" projects in my free time, and you can
see the results of one of them if you go to my webpage: for-torches.4t.com
Anyway, I am looking forward to a great semester and to becoming
acquainted with those I haven't met yet ("acquainted" means I know your
      name by heart).
I might add that I have no idea what exactly all these beyond-strange
references are to "mothers" and other things in some of the introductions,
but that seems like something which I wouldn't care about very much . . .
      Bye!"

soprano who hangs out with the other crazy blonde soprano with really
loooong hair (that'd be Lindsay, and that long was said with the infamous
      Minnesota accent-though I still deny I have one!). I'm a freshman
majoring in International Studies, Spanish, and Math, though I once told
my roommates I was changing majors to Fijian Dumpster Service and Repair,
so we'll see what happens with that! Hmmm...there's not much else to

for biology (CHEM 188...my best friend =P), I enjoy playing my cello,
hanging out with my roomie and my friends from Chi Alpha and Lewis, and

groan. :) But just to defend, we honestly have a hard time singing
softly way up in the stratosphere. Nonetheless, I'm glad to be back at KU
for my final semester! I'm going to miss all of you fine people in the
music department and most definitely KU basketball, but let me tell you I
will not regret departing the world of homework! Besides perfecting the
art of screechy high notes I also play the violin, guitar, djembe (an
African hand-drum, if you didn't know), and doodle a bit on the piano
while still retaining full mastery of the kazoo. So what the heck am I
going to do after finishing my B.A. in voice??? good question...but
hopefully get some sort of an internship with a group called 100 Portraits
who reside in Colorado Springs...one of my favorite playgrounds in the
US. I love traveling and have an affinity for photography, poetry and
other great literature, hiking, running, meeting new people, and certainly
not least, God. I'm looking forward to getting to know more of you and

"Hey everyone! My name is Jen Barker and I'm a senior majoring in music
education, and as much as I love KU, I'm ready to get out of here! My
major instrument is piano and I've taught piano at the Lawrence Piano
Studio for the last 3 years, but I hope to be a high school choral teacher
someday...at least at this point. Other hobbies...I love sports,
especially volleyball and skiing (which I'm doing over Spring Break and I
can't wait!!). That's about it. I look forward to meeting you all and
wish everyone the best of luck this semester!"

"Hi all. Some of you know me and most of you may know who I am, and some of
you will have no clue as to who I am. My name is Justin Kurtz. I am a
Senior (kind of) in Music education. I have decided that I will end up
with tenure before I actually graduate. I work at O'Reilly auto parts and
usually work on my own car. I hope to meet plenty of new people this
semester in choir. See you Friday.
      Justin"

      "hi everyone,

I was in Men's Glee last semester and I miss having a day choir with my
evenings free. I also wanted to try something new and different. What
happened that was exciting over my break? Well, Christmas was great, I
feel guilty for all the goodies I got. On New Years Day, I discovered a
stomach ache that wouldn't go away turned out to be appendicitis, which
was a lot of fun. I'm writing a string quintet piece so if any of you
play or are interested let me know, I would be so grateful! I'm looking
forward to singing with you all"

"Hello, all. I'm Rob Sharp, and I was going to be a B.M. in music
      composition...unfortunately, I have had a little change of heart...what
it has changed to, I have no stinkin' idea. I just know that I can't
stand the thought of seven more semesters of voice lessons (no offense to
you voice majors...), and I don't want to take the time to do the REC 100
thing. Anyway, I have no clue what I'm going to do for the rest of
college...next semester, I think, will be full of Gen Ed junk, so no
matter what I do, I won't be stuck with extra years to do.
      Jennifer...you're in my...uh...German class? I think that was it...cause
I think it was Doris that misunderstood your last name...
Anybody who knows my high school choir teacher (Mrs. Marie Lerner-
Sexton), e-mail me...I need help in figuring out how to tell her I'm not
      going to compose...
      See ya all!"

"WORD TO YOUR MOTHERS!!! I'm so excited to be back in Concert Choir this
semester! Even though I was sick for all of break with the same thing I
had BEFORE break I cried every day because I wasn't in choir and now I'm
filled with this jubilation because I'm back at school, almost recovered,
and ready to sing again. I'm excited to get to know all the people who
just enrolled and to get to know everybody else a lot better!! Do I
overuse exclamation points? Yeah...I guess for Christmas I got an extra
dose of weirdness, I'll try and tone it down for class but don't count on
it. I missed you all, let's get excited about being a great great great
      choir this semester!! Love, Paige"

"Hey everyone. I'm Jennifer Cardiff. I'm new to the class this
semester. Last semester I took 12 hours of core classes because I didn't
know what I wanted to do with my life. Needless to say, two of those
classes I didn't need because I'm majoring in either music therapy or
vocal music education. I can't decide which. But what ever I do, it
      will be in music.

I'm a freshman, and a second soprano but will be singing alto 1 in this
      choir because ALTOS RULE!! hehe"

"Ooh! Am I the first one?! I don't see any others here. Well, good for
me. I guess. I'm still the same person I was last semester. I did
nothing exciting over the break. My Christmas present was having my
parents pay for my December rent. And I got new contacts!! I mean,
they're the same presription and not tinted or anything, but everyone
should compliment me on my fresh-looking lenses.
I had a really interesting New Years, cuz I wound up being DD for gaggle
of drunken friends. Yes, a gaggle. There's really no other way to
      describe them.
      Or me.
      Introduction over."
