syllabus calendar/assignments evaluation resources

You have two written analyses of the Eichenberger video "What They See Is What You Get" due this term. Check the course calendar for due dates.

Requirements:

Each analysis should cover approximately one-half of the videotape (Analysis one: first half, Analysis two: second half)

Each analysis should be typed (2.5-3 pages, double spaced) if submitted as hard copy.

Email submissions are encouraged. In this case, you may type your analysis single-spaced in the body of the email, with word count roughly equal to 2.5-3 pages of doubled spaced type. Write "Eichenberger Analysis" in the subject of your email.

Each analysis should discuss ways in which Eichenberger's approach and suggestions from the video (first half, second half) might benefit your own conducting. In other words, these analyses are not just a review of the videotape per se, but evidence of a dialogue between yourself/ your own conducting and the approaches/perspectives/techniques discussed by Eichenberger. Conclude your analysis with a couple of paragraphs reflecting on the "Mimes and Conductors: Silent Artists" article (distributed in class) as it relates to Eichenberger's perspective.

If you prefer to do an analysis of the whole tape, rather than divide the assignment, feel free to do so. Just double the length.
